About the Role
Health New Zealand Taranaki is excited to offer an Intern Pharmacist position for 2027. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team committed to clinical excellence and continuous learning.
As an Intern Pharmacist, youll work under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist while gaining hands-on experience across a variety of clinical areas. Your role will include (but is not limited to) delivering clinical services to a designated ward, supporting medicines information and reconciliation processes, participating in education sessions, and assisting with non-sterile compounding. Youll also gain exposure to our electronic systems, including e-Pharmacy, Pyxis, and MedChart, and work alongside our clinical teams in areas such as the Emergency Department and Antimicrobial Stewardship.
Youll be well supported throughout your internship, with opportunities to develop your clinical skills and be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.

About the Service
Health New Zealand - Taranaki's Pharmacy Service is a collaborative and supportive department who provide safe and effective medication management across both Taranaki Base and Hawera hospitals. We uphold the highest standards in pharmaceutical supply, medicines safety, and clinical services, whilst constantly looking at ways to improve the service and care we deliver. Our staff work collaboratively in many multi-disciplinary teams across medical, nursing and allied health directorates with a shared focus on ensuring optimal patient-centered care.
Health New Zealand - Taranaki is also fortunate to have its dedicated eMedication management team who work closely alongside our Pharmacy department to lead medication management in the various data and digital platforms across the hospital.
About you
You will need to have:
- A Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent
- Hold a current APC with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand
