About the Event Matakanarama is a brand-new, independently run New Year's festival created by four young founders who are passionate about delivering an unforgettable, people-focused summer experience.
After last year's success, they are stepping things up to a fully licensed 1,500-person festival for 2025. With multiple bars operating across the site, they are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and energetic hospitality legends to join their team.
Positions Available:
- Bar Staff - $26/hr
We're seeking confident, friendly bar staff with strong customer service skills. You'll be serving drinks, keeping the vibe positive, and helping the crowd enjoy their New Year's in a safe, fun environment.
- Duty Managers - $35/hr
We're also on the hunt for experienced Duty Managers who can oversee bar operations, support the team, uphold responsible service of alcohol, and ensure everything runs smoothly each night. Working Hours (Licensed Hours)
- 29 December: 4pm - 2am
- 30 December: 4pm - 2am
- 31 December: 4pm - 1am
You may work one, two, or all three days depending on availability.
What We're Looking For:
- LCQ / Manager's Certificate (for Duty Manager roles)
- Previous bar or festival/event experience preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- A positive attitude and team-focused mindset
- Reliability, showing up is half the magic
- People who genuinely enjoy creating a great experience for others
