We are looking for a Bar Manager to run the bar at The Barrio Brothers Mount Maunganui!

About The Barrio Brothers: We are the Bay's OG Mexican restaurant group. We've been dishing out the best tacos, burritos and of course margaritas for over 14 years! We are super passionate about Mexican food, drinks and culture and love sharing it through our restaurants.

About the Role: We are seeking an upbeat Bar manager to take over the hands-on day-to-day running of the drinks program at our Mount Maunganui restaurant. We need someone with high standards and crystal-clear communication skills. You'll be a team player with great initiative and passion for providing the ultimate hospitality experience.

The Barrio is open Tuesday through Sunday for dinner and lunch services from 4:30 pm, so this job would involve night work but forget crazy late nights but we are coming into our busy season and need all hands on deck over the Xmas period. This is a full time permanent position with a normal working week being no less than 30 hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring smooth service and high standards.
• Develop and update cocktail menus with innovative, Mexican-inspired beverages.
• Train, manage, and motivate bar staff to provide excellent customer service.
• Manage bar inventory, control costs, and maintain stock levels.
• Handle customer feedback and foster a positive, lively bar environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience of at least 2 as a Bar Manager or senior bartender, bonus if that's in a Mexican restaurant.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Creative flair for crafting signature cocktails.
• A duty manager certificate is a advantageous.
• A passion for Mexican cuisine and culture is a plus!
