Bar and Function Staff Member – Fast-paced, Iconic Venue in Tai Tapu

We are on the hunt for an experienced hospitality super star to work in our bar and assist in our functions. Position is for a minimum of 30 hours plus a week on a permanent contract.

With a capacity of up to 400 guests and a summer season that doesn’t slow down, we’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume setting, leads from the front, and knows how to create memorable customer experiences – even on the busiest of days.

About the role:

• You will involve yourself in maintaining a smooth flow of busy and fast paced service.
• You will stay focused on the customers and motivate the service team to do the same.
• You will learn and contribute to the team’s adherence and maintenance of restaurant and bar procedures.
• You will build relationships with the team and our customers ensuring a long lasting and mutually satisfying rapport

What we’re looking for:

• Current Duty Managers Certificate a plus but not essential
• At least 2 years’ experience in a busy, high-volume venue
• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
• Flexible availability – including nights, weekends, and public holidays
• Full driver’s licence (you’ll help operate our courtesy vans)
• Someone organised, proactive, and ready to take ownership
• Remains calm, cool & courteous in a busy environment, able to take on challenges and adapt to change
• Great passion for food, wines, coffees, cocktails, beers & spirits
• Creative thinking of ideas and proactive at putting forward recommendations
