Description
Location:Auckland, New Zealand Pay Rate: NZD $26 - $30 per hour (depending on skills and experience), minimum 30 hours per week, full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook authentic Malaysian dishes in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure meals are prepared efficiently and consistently while maintaining high quality and taste standards.
- Organise and manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times in line with New Zealand food safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimise food wastage.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth service during busy hours.
- Be able to work quickly and independently, delivering dishes on time.
Position Requirements:
- At least one year relevant work experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen (preferably with Malaysian/Chinese or Asian cuisine).
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick and efficient cooking skills.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple orders at once.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and workplace safety standards.
- Flexible with working hours
- Reliable, hardworking, and a good team player.
