Position: Chinese Cuisine Chef Location: Newmarket, Auckland Employment Type: Full-time (Minimum 30 hours per week) Hourly Rate: NZD $26.00 – $30.00 (depending on skills and experience)

About Us We are a well-established Chinese restaurant specialising in authentic Cantonese cuisine, including traditional Cantonese dishes, pastries, dim sum, and desserts. We are committed to delivering the highest quality dining experience to our customers.

As our business continues to grow steadily, we have recently expanded our services to include delivery options and affordable Chinese-style set meals tailored for workers in the surrounding area. To maintain our current output capacity, food quality, and overall service standards, we are now seeking three experienced chefs to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present authentic Chinese dishes, demonstrating sound knowledge of traditional Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavour profiles
• Follow established recipes and cooking methods to ensure consistency in flavour, presentation, and quality
• Assist with daily menu execution, food-preparation planning, and service coordination
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and overall kitchen workflow during busy service periods
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
• Support kitchen operations for the new store, including preparation for opening and daily setup
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant commercial kitchen experience
• Proven skills in Chinese cuisine，particularly Cantonese dishes, dim sum, pastries, noodles, cold dishes, and desserts are highly preferred
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong teamwork, reliability, and a positive attitude
• Willingness to commit to long-term employment and work flexible hours as required
