Lemongrass Catering has been in business for 19 years in Tauranga, we are creating a new position for a Sous chef to join us as the business grows. We cater for corporate, weddings and events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a busy catering kitchen
- Prepare and cook to a high-quality and consistent standard
- Assist with general kitchen operations, including prep, service, and cleaning, and deliveries when required
- Work across sections as needed, supporting the wider kitchen team
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Strong Chef de Partie wanting to step up
- Strong skills in baking
- Experience working as a chef in a commercial kitchen
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to perform calmy under pressure in a busy service environment
- Passion for food, quality, and continuous improvement

- Tuesdays – Saturday. Early starts, mainly daytime hours with some nighttime work with Wedding / Events catering .
This position may lead into a head chef position for the right chef.
