Located in Methven Mid Canterbury, The Dubliner is an Award-Winning venue, and proud to be ranked Number 1 in Methven on TripAdvisor for places to dine. The Dubliner is a hotspot for locals and tourists, full of character with views overlooking the mountains and is within easy reach of the ski slopes, conveniently located just over an hour south of Christchurch City.
We are a foodie venue, and our kitchen team is instrumental in maintaining the venues reputation and ensuring customer satisfaction. All our food is prepared in-house and we are looking for a Chef that can join our lovely team and help deliver dishes that are consistent and delicious!
Alongside our food menu we offer great beers including Irish stouts, premium spirits with an extensive list of Irish Whiskey’s and a small but hand selected NZ focused wine list, working directly with some of the area’s best wineries.
You will work alongside a strong management team playing an integral role in ensuring The Dubliner remains at the top of its game and will continue winning awards and being known as one of Mid Canterbury’s best destination places to dine.
We know that to deliver our vision we need an enthusiastic and passionate small team of professionals who genuinely love food and have a track record of delivering dishes of the highest quality.

To be eligible for this role -
- A proven track record working as a pizza chef or line chef in a busy fresh food venue with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work flexibly and in a small team and do whatever is required to ensure a smooth service
- Rights to live and work in New Zealand
- Flexible to work a mixture of days, nights and weekends and be available throughout the peak winter season.
- Great communication skills and willing to work closely with the whole team, owners and community.

Position - Full-time / Winter Contract $25 - $35 per hour based on experience 30+hrs per week depending on business needs
Flexible hours / 5 0r 6 days out of 7 days
Days of work change depending on bookings and business needs

General Job Description -
- Food preparation
- Preparing food to meet the required specifications
- Working to recipes and controlling food portions to deliver food costs and margins
- Adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules and sanitation requirements
- Using kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers and warmers in food preparation
- Take in deliveries ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality
- Checking and delivering dishes at correct food temperatures when cooking
- Ensuring all fresh and prepared ingredients are correctly stored
- Keeping the workstations and kitchen equipment are clean, organised and sanitised
- Taking charge of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties as directed by the Senior Chef
