Asian Garden Hospitality Ltd (AGH) is a Kiwi owned business with 13 restaurants nationwide (Christchurch, Wellington, Dunedin, Invercargill and Nelson)
We have vacancies for Asian Chef who are confident in maintaining consistent food quality standards to ensure our customers experience an “exceptional, consistent, and quality Asian dining experience” exceeding customer expectations.
Chef Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food in company restaurants.

You will be responsible for: Planning menus. -Estimating food and labour costs. Ordering food supplies. Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation. Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff. -Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures. Preparing and cooking food Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations. Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment Preparing and cooking all food (including sauces), strictly following recipes as provided by Asian Garden Hospitality Ltd, taking into account special dietary requirements. May select and train staff May freeze and preserve foods.
Ideally you will have: A formal related cookery certificate AND/OR at least three years relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications. In some instances relevant experience and /or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification. Experience in working as part of a high performing cohesive team Experience in meeting and exceeding operating standards Confidence in following instructions and in reporting any issues or areas for improvement Role: Asian Chef Location of work: Nelson Hourly rate of pay: $29.80 Full time permanent Asian Chef position Working hours: minimum of 30 hours ANZSCO Code : 351311 Chef, ANZSCO Skill level 2
