Thai Cook

Ithai Limited is looking for Thai Cooks who will be working with our team to serve authentic Thai food.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of the related work experience OR
• At least NZ Register Level 4 qualification may substitute for the experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification) OR
• The National Skill Standard Testing Level 1 (Thai Cook or Thai Chef) from Thailand And
• Knowledge of Thai food ingredients
• Knowledge of Thai food cooking techniques

Job Descriptions

• Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Thai dishes, including curries, stir-fries, soups, and rice-based meals.
• Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation align with traditional Thai culinary standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in food preparation areas.
• Source and manage Thai-specific ingredients, ensuring proper storage and inventory control.
• Assist in menu development and contribute to the creation of new Thai-inspired dishes.
• Adhere to health, safety, and food handling regulations.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene standards, including proper sanitation and storage practices.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.

Other detail

• This is a full-time and permanent position
• The wage is $26.50 to $35.00 per hour, with weekly payments
• Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law
• We have two branches in Nelson:

(1) 322 Wakefield Quay, Stepneyville, Nelson

(2) 16C Vanguard Street, Nelson City

• You will be required to work at both branches
• You will be required to work according to a roster, 5–6 days per week, with a guarantee of 30 hours (maximum 48 hours).
