Description

The Venue Named after the "public" bar of the White Hart, this unique artesian space affords an exciting work environment for all passionate chefs.

Located in central New Plymouth in the West End Precinct, we neighbour other great sister hospitality businesses, creating a captivating ambience for guests.

Dedicated to the craft of great food, complimented with our house made gelato, our passion is to celebrate exceptional produce within our community and share a love for soul food with a commitment to food influencing a greater good.

Public Kitchen is on the hunt for a Chef de Partie to join the team. This is a fulltime role, minimum 30 hours per week with immediate start available for the right candidate!

The role:

  • Preparation of menu items following recipes taste testing and evaluating food before service
  • Ensure the use of high-quality ingredients and ensure business and safety standards are followed
  • Adhering to business and safety standards, storing food in temperature-controlled facilities, freezing and preserving food as required
  • Stock management and ordering, maintenance of food and equipment inventories
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and costs

About You: To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in the industry (preferred), as well as a willingness to learn and implement our way of doing things
  • National Certificate in Cookery or studying towards qualifications (preferred)
  • A friendly and positive attitude
  • Flexibility in roster requirements
  • The ability to work well as part of a team, and be efficient while working individually
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and costs
  • A passion for hospitality
