Casual Catering Assistant - Elizabeth Knox Kitchen

A great opportunity has arrived at one of our biggest Aged Care Kitchens. We are now recruiting for the casual Catering Assistant role at Elizabeth Knox Kitchen in Epsom. On an as and when required basis.

Shifts could be a mixture of 06:00-14:30 or 10:30 to 19:00.

In this role you will assist the Chef Manager to prepare food for our residents. The willingness to keep the kitchen clean and hazard free is necessary for this role, and you will need to be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in all aspects of the kitchen. The successful candidates will need to be compassionate and warm, and able to work with respect for, and in support of, the home’s mission and values.

The team in the kitchen caters for up to 260 residents daily.

The role requires you to:

• be friendly and engaging with a flexible, committed, can-do attitude,
• support our team by keeping the kitchen clean and doing dishes,
• be able to work safely in a commercial kitchen with large hot pots and trays,
• be able to follow instructions to prepare and serve delicious and wholesome meals,
• be an exceptional team player who is able to take responsibility and work unsupervised,
• have a practical understanding of New Zealand Food Control and Safety Regulations,
• have good time management skills.
