Description

We are on the lookout for a Café Manager for our cafe store in Christchurch, Canterbury region who can oversee the smooth running of our business.

You will be guaranteed minimum 30 hours weekly. It is a permanent full-time role. The pay rate ranges from $30 to $35.

To oversee all aspects of the running of the store including maintaining high standards for guest service, food and drinks, cash handling, stock records, merchandising, cleaning, till operations, ordering, delegation of tasks and all aspects of staff management. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate records of stock levels and financial transactions
  • Conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service
  • Selecting, hiring, training, and supervising staff
  • Assisting with staff rostering, shift management, and performance monitoring
  • Managing the cash register, ensuring accurate cash handling and financial accountability
  • Monitoring wage percentages and maintaining targeted gross profit margins
  • Assisting in inventory control, stock ordering, and supplier coordination
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
  • Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner
  • Supporting daily cafĂ© operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Assisting with reservations, greeting guests, and taking orders when required
  • Coordinating with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service
  • Maintaining cleanliness, presentation, and overall standards of the cafĂ©
  • Supporting promotional activities and helping drive sales and customer engagement
  • Assisting the manager in implementing business strategies and operational improvements To be successful you will need to
  • Have at least two years’ work experience in a relevant field, or Diploma or higher qualification in relevant field like Management or Commerce or Hospitality
  • Be a great team player, be able to follow instructions
  • Good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically and effectively
  • Have "can-do" attitude
