Experience Manager – Tui HQ
Tui HQ
Listing Description
Description
This is your average hospitality gig – Yeah Right!
At Tui HQ, we don’t just pour beer - we serve up legendary experiences. Since 1889, we’ve been a must-stop spot for locals, road-trippers, and anyone chasing a great pint. From expertly poured beers and our café serving up fresh local flavours to events, functions, and the iconic garden bar, this place hums five days a week. Now we’re on the hunt for an Experience Manager to keep the good times rolling and the standards sky-high.
What you’ll be doing: You’ll be the engine room behind the full Tui HQ experience - leading the front of house and kitchen teams, keeping operations tight, and making sure every guest leaves with a story worth telling.
Day to day, you’ll:
- Run the bar and cafe, functions, events and overall guest experience like a well-poured pint
- Lead, coach and motivate a lively, diverse hospitality team
- Manage rosters, recruitment, training and performance (the whole people piece)
- Keep a sharp eye on stock, budgets, costs and profitability
- Oversee functions and events as the key liaison for bookings
- Make sure everything ticks along nicely with health & safety and liquor licensing
What we’re looking for: You’re not just a manager - you’re a host, a leader, someone who genuinely loves great hospitality and a cracking yarn.
You’ll bring:
- Solid experience in hospitality (2+ years essential)
- The ability to work 9-5pm Tuesday to Saturday including Friday evening, and the occasional Sunday – the trade off no crazy late nights or brutally early mornings – told you this wasn’t your average hospo role!
- Proven leadership skills (you’ve led teams and know how to get the best out of people)
- A current Duty Manager’s Certificate or the ability to obtain one
- Conference, function and event background
- Confidence running busy services, events and juggling competing priorities
- A knack for solving problems and keeping calm when things get hectic
The kind of person who’ll thrive here:
- Bring energy, humour and a strong work ethic
- Lead with fairness, integrity and a bit of good old-fashioned Kiwi common sense
- Care about your team just as much as your customers
- Stay cool under pressure
- Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and muck in
- Are always looking for ways to do things better today than yesterday
Why Tui HQ? Because this isn’t just a job - it’s a place where:
- No two days are the same
- You’re part of a legendary Kiwi brand
- You get to create experiences people genuinely remember
- The team culture matters just as much as the bottom line
- We are only 20 mins from Palmerston North
Keen? If you reckon you’ve got what it takes to run the show and keep Tui HQ humming, we want to hear from you!
