Description

Are you passionate about great food service, experienced in a busy café environment and excel at being a great person to work with? Perhaps you’ve outgrown your coffee cart and looking for the next step in growing your hospo talents!

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced hands-on manager to lead our café team where great hospitality, strong organisation and supportive leadership come together to create a welcoming environment for customers, staff and volunteers. The cafe is set alongside the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, with newly refurbished prep station and service counter, indoor and alfresco seating areas.

The position is for 40 hours per week working Monday to Friday 7.00am to 3.30pm, with flexibility required to ensure Saturday operating hours are also effectively managed.

Reporting to the ReStore Manager, the role will provide management and leadership for three part time staff, rostered to cover the operating hours across the six days of opening.

What the job includes:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the café, ensuring smooth and efficient service
  • Lead, train and support café staff, fostering a positive and cooperative team culture
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a welcoming environment for a diverse customer base
  • Manage the coffee bar and service area, ensuring high standards of food and beverage preparation
  • Coordinate stock ordering, rotation and merchandising of café products
  • Monitor sales, control costs and support achieving strong financial performance
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and presentation
  • Ensure clear, respectful and timely communication within the team
  • Take responsibility for personal health and safety and support a safe workplace for others

What you will offer:
