Duty Manager – Pizza Hut
Locations: Bell Block (2 positions), New Plymouth (1 position) Employment Type: Permanent Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week Roster: Rotating roster including weekends and late evenings Pay Rate: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking three dedicated and motivated hospitality professionals to join our team as Duty Managers. This role is key to ensuring smooth daily restaurant operations, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting the achievement of business goals.
Key Responsibilities
As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for:
Overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations, including staff management, customer service, stock control, ordering, inventory management, and service standards
Determining appropriate product mix, stock levels, and service quality to meet customer demand and business objectives
Formulating and implementing purchasing, pricing, and marketing policies in line with company guidelines
Contributing to and supporting marketing and promotional initiatives, including promoting and advertising the restaurant’s goods and services to drive sales growth
Selling products and services to customers and providing advice on menu items and promotions to enhance the customer experience
Ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety requirements, and occupational health and safety regulations
Maintaining audit readiness by leading by example and upholding high standards of cleanliness, product quality, and customer satisfaction
Collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure efficient operations and accurate order preparation
Strategizing, coordinating, and managing store deliveries in a timely, effective, and efficient manner
Monitoring and controlling inventory levels, maintaining accurate records of stock levels and financial transactions
Undertaking budgeting tasks and assisting with cost control to support financial performance
Performing administrative duties such as staff scheduling, payroll processing, reporting, and record keeping
Selecting, training, mentoring, and supervising staff members to foster a positive, productive, and collaborative work environment
Handling customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and resolving issues promptly
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Eligibility to work in New Zealand (must be clearly stated in your CV or cover letter)
Experience and competency across all restaurant stations
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and supervise team members
Excellent customer service skills and a results-driven mindset
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good organisational and time-management abilities with strong attention to detail
Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
Sound understanding of basic financial, budgeting, and inventory management concepts
Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Previous Pizza Hut experience (advantageous but not essential)
Food Safety Certification (preferred)
Qualifications
A Level 4 or higher qualification, or
A minimum of three years’ experience in the hospitality industry
