MANAGER

Based in New Plymouth
Taranaki Community Law aims to meet the unmet legal needs of people in the Taranaki region, increase awareness about legal rights and responsibilities and promote access to justice.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead our dedicated team of practitioners. This role is pivotal in driving high-quality service delivery, ensuring best-practice approaches, and fostering a supportive and collaborative culture.
Our working environment is stimulating, diverse and delivers services to a wide client group. You need a sound knowledge of social issues, a commitment to social justice, be highly motivated and committed to professional excellence.
Minimum Qualification:
- Degree or recognised qualification in Management, Non-profit Management, or related field
Essential Experience & Knowledge:
- Proven experience of at least 5 years in a management or senior leadership role, ideally within the not-for-profit sector or social services in New Zealand
- Proven ability to achieve a constructive partnership and effective collaboration with a Board of Trustees. Demonstrated ability to work within agreed delegations and provide timely accurate reports.
- Proven experience in the successful management of staff and fostering an inclusive, supportive and healthy team culture
- Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and experience in delivering culturally responsive services
- Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic initiatives, measurable outcomes and produce desired results
- Proven ability to competently manage organisations finances and aptitude for financial oversight, organisational planning and risk management
- Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector, the role of organisations providing social services in the sector, and an understanding of NZ charity regulations
- Knowledge of the barriers to justice that exist in NZ society and of the issues faced by low-income clients and marginalised communities
- Sound social analysis and understanding of the issues affecting people
- Applicants must be eligible to currently work in New Zealand
- A valid full clean New Zealand drivers’ licence
