BAR MANAGER / DUTY MANAGER

Waterfront Kitchen & Bar is a busy, well-established venue on the Kāpiti Coast, known for its strong food offering, good drinks list, and consistent service. We’ve built a loyal local following and take pride in running a professional, welcoming operation.

We’re continuing to grow, with plans to expand our seating, improve back-of-house systems, and develop a rooftop bar. We’re looking for someone who can step into a leadership role and be part of that next stage.

The Role We’re looking for an experienced Bar Manager / Duty Manager to lead shifts and support the front-of-house team.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll be responsible for running service, supporting staff, and making sure things flow well on the floor. It suits someone who is confident, practical, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

What We’re Looking For

*Experience in a busy bar and/or restaurant *Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team on shift *Solid understanding of service standards and customer experience *Able to stay calm under pressure and make decisions when needed *Availability to work evenings and weekends *Good knowledge of cocktails, wine, and beer *Barista experience is important however not essential *LCQ and Manager’s Certificate preferred
