Bar Manager Charley Noble | Wellington Immediate start available Hours: Full-time, 30-45 over 5 days, weekends inclusive

Charley Noble is a vibrant, high-performing Wellington restaurant built around wood fire, quality produce, and a strong beverage program. With 95 seats, 50+ by-the-glass pours, and 250+ guests a day, our bar is fast-paced, high-volume, and standards-driven. We are looking for a Bar Manager who can lead from the front, lift performance, and take real ownership of the beverage operation. This is not a “keep things ticking over” role. This is for someone who wants to build a team, drive results, and make a meaningful contribution to one of Wellington’s flagship venues.
The role; You will lead the bar team with a clear guest-first approach and take responsibility for the performance, structure, and development of the beverage department. You’ll create a bar that is:

Key responsibilities;
- Lead a genuine guest-first culture from the bar
- Ensure every drink leaves the bar to a consistently high standard
- Work closely with the floor team to deliver seamless service
- Lead, motivate, and develop a small bar team
- Coach product knowledge, service standards, speed, and consistency
- Build a disciplined, positive, high-performing bar culture
- Manage beverage COGS and stock integrity with precision
- Improve beverage sales mix across key categories
- Drive feature cocktails, list development, and regular rotation
- Own bar systems, prep structure, par levels, ordering, stocktakes, and controls
- Manage supplier relationships professionally and proactively
- Maintain compliance, licensing, health & safety, and operational standards

About you You are a strong hospitality leader who understands that personality matters, but performance matters too. You know how to create a great vibe, while also running a tight section, holding standards, managing costs, and driving results. You will bring:
- previous experience in a senior bar leadership role
- strong cocktail, wine, beer, and beverage knowledge
- proven ability to lead and develop a team
- commercial awareness and confidence with numbers
