Grounds Person – Motueka TOP 10 Holiday Park Full-time | Summer Position
Motueka TOP 10 Holiday Park is seeking an experienced Grounds Person to join our award-winning holiday park for the summer season. Based in the heart of Motueka, the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park, we are a bustling hub for Kiwi families during the peak holiday period and a popular destination for international visitors exploring our beautiful region.
We are looking for an experienced handyman with solid trade skills, a can-do attitude, and someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of our facilities, infrastructure, grounds, and swimming pool.
About the Role: Over the summer months, you’ll be the go-to person for practical “fix-it” solutions across guest accommodation and communal areas. Tasks include:
- General repairs and maintenance
- Waste management
- Ensuring the functionality and cleanliness of communal facilities (kitchens, bathrooms, BBQ areas, pool, recycle stations)
- Grounds maintenance including mowing, gardening, and outdoor upkeep
- Assisting with check in’s and check out’s.
What We’re Looking For
We’re after someone who is:
- Hands-on, physically fit, and confident working outdoors
- Health & Safety conscious, pragmatic, and an all-round “good sort” – calm, approachable, and collected
- Experienced in the trades or services industry, ideally within a resort, holiday park, or other large-scale hospitality setting
- Customer service focused
- Skilled across a range of maintenance tasks including building, painting, gardening, mowing, plumbing, basic electrical, and general problem-solving (plus the ability to reset a TV remote!)
- A clear communicator with strong initiative and a genuine can-do attitude
- Detail-oriented, taking pride in presentation and the high standards our guests expect
- Flexible and adaptable, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A confident driver with a valid licence, able to reverse a trailer, assist with reversing caravans and operate a tractor
Availability:
This position is fulltime, fixed term for 6 months with the opportunity to be permanent for the right applicant. Applicants must be available to work weekends, New Year, and public holidays as part of a 5 day roster.
