Gambling Cashier

We are looking for responsible Gaming Cashiers to help organize and run our Bar and gaming located in Kawakawa. You should be skilled at organizing and solving problems. Interpersonal and mediation skills will also be very useful, since you’ll often be acting as a liaison between managers, employees and customers.

Requirements

• Level 4- Trade Certificate or Diploma is required.
• OR at least three years of relevant experience is required.

Job Duties Operate gaming cashier services within the bar and gaming environment in compliance with the Gambling Act, gaming regulations, gazetted rules, and venue operating procedures. Process gaming transactions accurately, including cash handling, payouts, vouchers, and reconciliations, ensuring minimal discrepancies. Handle and manage significant amounts of cash responsibly, maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability. Provide professional and courteous customer service to patrons, including regular and high-value customers. Monitor gaming activity and transactions to identify and report potential Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CFT) risks in line with legal requirements. Verify customer identification and complete required checks and records for large or suspicious transactions. Identify and report counterfeit currency, fraudulent activity, or irregular transactions promptly to management. Observe and respond appropriately to signs of problem gambling, customer intoxication, or unsafe behaviour, escalating concerns in accordance with venue policy. Manage customer queries, disputes, or complaints related to gaming transactions, referring complex issues to supervisors when required. Maintain accurate daily records, cash balances, and reports to support auditing and compliance requirements. Follow all internal controls, security procedures, and confidentiality obligations at all times. Work collaboratively with bar staff, duty managers, and compliance teams to ensure smooth and compliant venue operations.
