Our portfolio includes the TSB Showplace, Bowl of Brooklands, TSB Stadium, and Stadium Taranaki - hosting a diverse range of events from concerts and performances to sporting fixtures and community celebrations. We take pride in creating memorable experiences for our patrons and clients through exceptional service and seamless event execution.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Casual Front of House Supervisor to oversee venue operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality events. This role involves managing all front of house activities and service contractors - including technical, ticketing, and catering teams - before, during, and after events. Acting as the key liaison between clients and service providers, you will ensure events start on time, run to schedule, and meet the highest standards of customer satisfaction.

Casual hours are flexible and driven by event requirements. Work is predominantly in the evenings and on weekends, with some daytime shifts available.

Key responsibilities - Ngā haepapa matua

  • Act as the venue's primary representative during events, ensuring all elements of the event plan are executed in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee the venue's presentation, security, safety, and operational functionality throughout the event, ensuring it meets the highest standards while effectively managing staff and coordinating service providers.
  • Conduct a pre-event venue inspection, review the event run sheet, and proactively identify potential challenges, addressing these with the event team. Prepare key information to present to the team.
  • Oversee the Front of House team, ensuring a clear understanding of individual responsibilities and comprehensive briefing on event logistics.
  • Manage seating and ticketing issues as they arise, including the relocation of patrons when necessary to ensure a smooth and positive guest experience.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the client and service providers, coordinating with the Technical Manager, Ticketing, Security, and Catering teams to ensure the event commences on time and adheres to the planned schedule.
  • Initiate and coordinate appropriate emergency response actions, including ensuring venue evacuation and emergency procedures are correctly followed during any emergency event.
  • Reconcile merchandise commissions with the promoter or merchandiser after the event.
  • Ensure a completed event report is produced at the end of the shift, documenting all significant activities and operational highlights.

Essential skills and experience - Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong critical thinking ability
  • Knowledge of venue operations
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the role
  • Excellent decision-making and communication skills
  • Experience in health and safety within venues would be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Full driver's licence preferred
