This is a hands‑on role where you’ll host guests, operate the vessel safely, and help keep everything running smoothly

About the Role

• Seasonal full‑time (Sept–May) with casual winter hours
• Vessel operation, safety, and general maintenance
• Hosting and welcoming guests
• Supervising and supporting crew

What We’re Looking For

• Fun, organised, calm under pressure, and great with people
• Reliable, honest, and happy to work in a small team
• Confident hosting both small groups and larger tours
• Mechanically minded with basic troubleshooting skillsKey Requirements
• 24m endorsement & passenger endorsement. An equivalent ticket would also be a ringfenced Inshore Launch master
• Seafarers Medical
• Current First Aid
• Good judgement of weather and sea conditions
• Ability to train and supervise crew
• Full, clean driver’s licence and good vision
• Strong communicator with a proactive, can‑do attitude

Desirable

• Local knowledge of Tauranga Harbour
• Enjoy meeting and engaging with people

Salary Contract skipper rate based on experience.
