Azure Architect / DevOps Engineer

Our client is seeking an Azure Architect with strong DevOps and engineering experience who can work directly with clients.

Location: Auckland / Wellington OR Christchurch

You’ll be responsible for the design and implementation of scalable cloud architectures, building automation and CI/CD pipelines and leading discovery sessions with clients to identify requirements and shape technical solutions. This role blends deep engineering knowledge with client-facing consulting expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Lead discovery and design sessions with clients to gather requirements and define solution roadmaps.
• Architect and manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform.
• Develop, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting through Azure Monitor, App Insights, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Design and maintain production-grade workloads, including AI/ML and container-based solutions.
• Champion infrastructure as code, security, scalability, and performance best practices.

Qualifications:

• Professional, client-facing with excellent communication skills.
• 3+ years as an Azure architect delivering enterprise solutions.
• 5+ years of DevOps and software engineering experience.
• Strong coding skills (Python, Go, C#, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with Azure services (AKS, App Service, Functions, VMs, VNets, Storage, SQL, AAD).
• Expertise in Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Docker/Linux.
• Skilled in monitoring and observability tools.
• Knowledge of cloud security and compliance standards.
