About TNL Solutions TNL Solutions is building an AI-powered client onboarding platform for tax agents across New Zealand, with deep integrations to accounting ecosystems. We collaborate closely with an engineering team based in Vietnam to deliver secure, reliable software that streamlines real-world finance workflows.

The Role We’re seeking an internal ICT Business Analyst to own requirements, optimise processes, and assure delivery quality for our AI platform. You’ll work daily with NZ stakeholders and our Vietnam development team (Agile/Scrum), ensuring the solution meets business needs, regulatory expectations, and quality standards. Regular onsite work in Vietnam is mandatory during key phases to accelerate delivery and quality.

Key tasks, duties, and responsibilities

  • Elicit & document requirements for the AI client-onboarding platform; analyse current tax-agent onboarding workflows; surface gaps and opportunities.
  • Process modelling & specs: produce clear, testable functional specs, data/flow diagrams, business rules, UI flows, integration points (e.g., MYOB/Xero). Maintain version control and traceability.
  • Quality assurance & UAT: define acceptance criteria, author test plans/cases, run UAT, track defects to closure; confirm integrity before release.
  • Vietnam delivery coordination: travel regularly to Vietnam to work face-to-face with developers; clarify requirements, review work, ensure standards, unblock issues, and keep timelines on track.
  • Stakeholder engagement: act as the primary liaison across NZ stakeholders and the Vietnam team; maintain alignment, timely decisions, and clear communication (English & Vietnamese).
  • Documentation & training: produce workflow docs, user guides, and training materials; deliver formal training to end users (tax agents).
  • Technology evaluation: assess solution options (AI, data extraction, document processing), and recommend scalable, commercially viable approaches.
  • Continuous improvement: enhance BA practices and development processes; help build a high-performing, customer-centric delivery function.

What we’re building (product context)

  • AI-powered client onboarding for tax agents, focused on document processing, data extraction, and workflow automation.
  • Integrations: MYOB, Xero, Google Sheets/Excel.
  • Delivery model: Agile with NZ–Vietnam collaboration and periodic onsite alignment.

Minimum skills, experience, and qualifications (must-have)

  • At least 1 year as a Business Analyst (software/platform projects).
  • Strong track record in requirements elicitation, process mapping, and functional/non-functional specifications.
  • UAT leadership: test planning/execution, defect management, quality gates.
  • Experience working in Agile teams with offshore/distributed development.
  • Vietnamese (fluent) for direct collaboration with the Vietnam team; professional English communication.
  • Familiarity with MYOB/Xero and Google Sheets/Excel for analysis and reporting.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to accounting/finance domains or tax-agent workflows.
  • Practical Jira/Confluence, basic SQL/analytics, and service design.
  • Understanding of ML/AI concepts (data pipelines, model lifecycle, evaluation).
  • Experience conducting onsite team management in offshore locations.

Work pattern and location

  • Guaranteed hours: Minimum 30 hours/week (up to 35).
  • Work mode: Hybrid — On-site in Auckland; Remote/On-site in Vietnam during deployments.
  • Standard hours: Mon–Fri, 9:00–17:00 NZT (or 6:00–14:00 VNT when in Vietnam).
  • Travel: Ability to work full-time in Vietnam for 1–3 consecutive months during critical phases; regular international travel is mandatory. Company covers return NZ↔VN travel when required.

Why join us

  • Build an AI-enhanced platform from the ground up with real customer impact.
  • High ownership from discovery → delivery → training.
  • Supportive leadership and clear paths for process and product improvement.
