The purpose of the wiqNZ team is to unlock the power of data to imagine retail, which contributes to making Kiwis’ lives a little better every day.

The primary remit of this intermediate Analyst role is to provide operational support to the Commercial Buying toolkit. As a key member of the wiqNZ team, you will operate a high use, high impact analytics toolkit to drive positive commercial outcomes. The team works closely with the WWNZ Commercial leadership and Category teams. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded skillset in  Excel, SQL and Python to deliver high-impact analytical solutions, and diagnose and resolve complex data issues in a timely manner.

Specifically, the role will see you doing:

  • Run, maintain and enhance business-facing toolkits (Excel front end, SQL+DBT+Python backend) including updates and issue resolution.

What you’ll bring | Hei koha

We're seeking a commercially-minded, technical Data Analyst to help support the progress of our commercial analytics  toolkits as they become an ongoing and highly valuable feature of our commercial operations.

You'll harness your strong Excel, SQL, Python and DBT expertise in a small squad of technical analysts to deliver high-impact analytical solutions.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • At least 2 years working experience in analytics (preferably commercial)

  • Strong Excel skills including functions, macro-driven automation and data visualisation techniques. Experience with VBA and Google Sheets is beneficial

  • Proficient in writing and understanding complex SQL queries. Working knowledge of database structures and data engineering principles are beneficial.
