Job Title: Client Onboarding and ICT Support Technician Location: Christchurch, New Zealand Rate: $33.56 per hour Hours: minimum 30 hours to maximum 40 hours per week
About Us: We are a small, professional accounting and tax firm in Christchurch, offering comprehensive services to businesses and individuals. As we continue to grow, we are improving our systems, processes, and digital operations. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Client Onboarding and ICT Support Technician to support our systems, client onboarding, and day-to-day IT operations.
Role Overview: As a Client Onboarding and ICT Support Technician, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining systems, supporting staff and clients with technical issues, and managing onboarding processes through system configuration and support. This role is ideal for someone with an IT background who is organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities: Setting up new client accounts in systems such as Xero and other cloud-based platforms Configuring user access, permissions, and system settings for clients and staff Providing first-level technical support for hardware, software, and cloud applications Troubleshooting system and user issues in a timely manner Installing, updating, and maintaining software and business applications Maintaining and updating client and system records, ensuring data accuracy and security Supporting onboarding processes through system setup and client guidance Monitoring system performance and reporting any issues or improvements needed Assisting with data backups, system security, and access controls Supporting integration between accounting software and other tools Preparing basic system documentation and user guides Liaising with external IT providers or software support teams when required Ensuring smooth communication between clients and team members through system use
Skills & Experience Required: Level 4–6 Qualification in Information Technology or related field OR at least 1–2 years of relevant experience (including internship or OJT) Basic knowledge of IT support, systems, or cloud-based applications Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software is an advantage Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Good understanding of user access and data security Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with tools such as Asana, Calendly, or similar is an advantage Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
