The Software Systems Specialist is a critical role responsible for the design, development, integration, and maintenance of our core online software platforms, This position requires a solid foundation in computer programming, rapid skill adoption, and a strong focus on technical accuracy and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities Responsibility for the company’s proprietary software platform Lead the design and implementation of new features within the online order and process management system, utilizing the companies customized software platform written in MS .NET language. API Development: Develop, maintain, and test various Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) built to interface with a particular focus on those critical for the integration and functionality of the companies various computer and phone based apps. System Design: Contribute to the overall further design and robust implementation of all online software systems used across our New Zealand vet practices and nutritionist network. Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct intensive, pre-implementation testing of new features and platforms to ensure stability, performance, and accuracy prior to deployment. System Management & Monitoring Product Build Management: On a daily basis, manage and oversee computer product builds generated through the companies online platform, ensuring integrity and correct configuration of all systems. System Mastery: Fully familiarise with every component and process within the "Customizer" software suite to provide expert support and development insights. Automated Manufacturing Systems: Monitor and manage the computer systems responsible for running the two new automated manufacturing lines, ensuring continuous operational efficiency. Core Platform Context App Development: The role will directly support the subscription-based platform, which is currently being co-developed with other parties. This software is designed to monitor real-time dairy herd production data (volume, protein, fat, urea, somatic cell count) fully integrated from online daily milk data. Real-Time Integration: Ensure seamless integration with various electronic cow wearable devices (monitoring rumen function, pH, yield, temperature, activity, etc.) in order to enable the software to calculate real-time feed blends and nutrient supplementation. Data Porting: Ensure data is ported directly to, mobile phones, tablets, and computers in optimized, user-friendly formats. Administrative & Office Support (Secondary Function) Office Backup: Provide backup support to the two current full-time Te Awamutu office staff. Order Processing: Assist with processing orders during periods of peak demand and cover administrative duties when other staff members are on leave. Qualifications and Skills Bachelors in Computer Engineering or similar. High capacity for technical training and rapid assimilation of new software systems (e.g., initial training in dot.net). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for system monitoring and development. Excellent attention to detail, particularly regarding testing and quality assurance. Ability to work both independently
$33.56 per hour Guaranteed 40 hours per week X 2 Reference from previous roles Must have a clean criminal record You will be drug test pre and randomly tested post-employment
