ANZCO Foods have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our team on a Fixed Term 18 Month contract to manage or assist on a range of projects with an Operational Technology (OT) component. These will range from obsolete control system replacement, site processing equipment and systems improvements, thru to supporting OT infrastructure resilience and cybersecurity improvement. To be successful in this role, the candidate must demonstrate proven experience in industrial control or other OT systems design, development, implementation, commissioning, and ongoing support. Furthermore, OT project management experience or significant contribution as a key project team member on OT projects is required.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Define and review project scope, ensuring all relevant site information is captured.
- Prepare technical specifications for RFQs and support design activities including reviews, value engineering, and cost/cost-quantity estimation.
- Develop project planning structures, including WBS creation, resource/effort estimates, and business case preparation.
- Manage low-complexity OT projects, providing installation oversight, standards enforcement, and device tagging/control system task support (e.g. PLC/SCADA development).
- Supervise commissioning activities, including I/O checks and functional testing.
- Conduct project hazard and risk analysis, defining required controls.
Qualifications and Previous Experience:
- Degree in electrical, mechatronic, or control systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, standards, codes of practice, and a strong safety focus across all project stages.
- Excellent English communication skills, including technical writing and documentation.
- Experience in project and contractor management, with the ability to build effective relationships across corporate, site operations, and engineering teams.
- Practical experience in OT cybersecurity, electrical and PLC control systems installation/commissioning, and common I/O devices (e.g., PowerFlex VSDs, IO Link).
- Skills in Studio 5000 programming, Ignition SCADA, and Ethernet-based industrial networks.
- Current NZ drivers licence; NZ electrical registration/practising licence (preferred but not essential).
