Mi-IT is a boutique MSP based in Auckland, Albany on the North Shore. The company is focused on MS Cloud technologies and is looking for a top-talented Level 3 Technician to lead the delivery of Microsoft cloud, cybersecurity, networking, firewall, ISP, and voice services. You'll handle escalations, improve stability, automate tasks, and support daily MSP operations.

This is a client-facing role. and your ability to form lasting relationships with our clients, and add value to their IT environments and business processes, will be important qualities for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Microsoft 365 administration across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and identity/security baselines.
• Azure services management including computer, networking, backup, identity, and security configuration.
• Cybersecurity operations including threat response, hardening, vulnerability remediation, MFA/Conditional Access enforcement.
• Networking support including switching, routing, VLANs, DNS, VPNs.
• Firewall management including policy updates, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Coordination and management of ISP services, connectivity issues, and escalations.
• Voice services administration including troubleshooting.
• Advanced Level 3 escalation support for complex incidents and problems.
• Documentation, runbooks, solution designs, and mentoring for Level 1/2 technicians

You'll bring extensive senior-level systems engineering experience with strong expertise across Microsoft 365, Azure, identity and security. You're confident with cybersecurity best practices, complex networking and firewall management, ISP coordination, and using PowerShell to automate and improve operations. Experience with voice and telephony systems (SIP, call routing, QoS) will also be highly valued.

• Datacenter Suite experience
• Microsoft Core Infrastructure Server Suite Datacenter
• SCOM administration and monitoring expertise.

This role is fully on-site at our Albany office. You will work hands-on alongside the current engineering team, providing architectural guidance and technical leadership. You will report directly to the Services Manager, ensuring technical decisions align with operational priorities and service delivery standards.

Standard business hours apply, with participation in an after-hours on-call roster to support P1/P2 incidents and maintain continuity of critical services.

Compensation will be aligned to the candidate's experience and seniority within Level 3 Systems Engineering roles. The salary band will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
