Description

Join our Gas team in Lower Hutt and play an important role supporting critical gas field operations. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical, practical work!

Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity We're looking for a motivated Utility Worker to join our team in Lower Hutt, Wellington. In this role, you'll provide general labouring, field support and assistance to Gas crews, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and to specification. You'll also help maintain equipment, optimise resource use, and communicate with clients, residents and the public as needed.

Your day‑to‑day tasks may include operating plant and equipment (where trained), carrying out risk assessments, supporting job planning, documenting work, and ensuring all site activities meet safety, quality and environmental requirements. If you're someone who is practical, reliable, safety‑focused and enjoys varied outdoor work, this role offers long‑term opportunity within a supportive team.

Mōu koe | About You You'll have the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider field team, with a strong commitment to safe work practices, good communication and quality outcomes.

You will bring: Essential

  • Current Class 1 driver's licence
  • Commitment to safe work practices and Zero Harm systems
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients, residents and the public

Desirable

  • Heavy trade licence
  • Industry‑related experience
