Lead Technology Technician Christchurch
We're working with a well established national technology provider that delivers a wide range of digital infrastructure solutions. We're looking for an experienced Lead Technology Technician to join their Christchurch team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands on while also leading from the front. You'll play a key role in supporting projects across the region, working closely with clients, and guiding installation teams to deliver quality outcomes.
About the Role This is a full time role (40 hours per week), you'll be involved in both installation and servicing across a variety of technology systems. Overtime is available at 1.5x standard pay. You'll be responsible for delivering high quality technical work, supporting the growth of the local branch, and building strong working relationships with clients and internal teams.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading the installation and servicing of
- Structured cabling
- Fibre systems
- Security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, intercoms
- Audiovisual
- Building controls
- Networking hardware (switches, servers, WAPs, UPS)
- Reviewing drawings and specifications to plan installation work
- Ensuring accurate documentation and as built records
- Working confidently on client sites and representing the company professionally.
- Supporting and mentoring installation teams
- Working autonomously while maintaining high standards of communication
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years' experience in structured cabling installation.
- Experience with security or audio visual systems (an advantage).
- 3+ years leading installation teams or projects.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Ability to think on your feet and solve problems.
- Confident working with both copper and fibre.
- A clean, current driving licence.
- NZ residency or valid work visa (preferred)
- Someone who leads by example, manages time well, and builds a positive team culture.
