This role is based in Katikati, where you will work in a clean tidy facility. We take pride in our well-equipped sawshop, which features Vollmer and Armstrong grinders and equipment.

About the Role: As a Saw Doctor at Claymark, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Sawmill, sharpening and maintaining saws to keep things running seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sharpen & Maintain Saws: Keep our Headrig, Resaw band saws, Edger, and other essential equipment in top condition.
• Minimise Downtime: Ensure timely saw and knife changes to avoid interruptions to the mill's operations.
• Back Operations: Work closely with the team to keep the Sawmill running smoothly and assist with planning and scheduling to ensure spare blades and consumables are always available.
• Health & Safety: Be committed to upholding Claymark’s health and safety standards.

What We’re Looking For: Experience:

• Previous experience as a qualified Saw Doctor.

• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in a hands-on role
• A collaborative attitude – you’ll be working alongside skilled Sawmill Supervisors, Maintenance Engineers, and the Claymark Thames operations Team.

The role reports to the Sawmill Supervisor at our Katikati site.
