Description

Pukepine Sawmill is a proudly family-owned New Zealand business and a leading manufacturer of quality timber products for both domestic and export markets located in Te Puke. We pride ourselves on quality, teamwork, and a strong commitment to health and safety.

We’re looking for a qualified and experienced Timber Machinist to join our night shift team. You’ll be part of our Flexi Crew, helping process and prepare timber products to a high standard. Our Flexi Crew works in a variety of places around site depending on what is needed, such as: Sawmill operation, Dry Mill operation, and Moulding Factory operations.

The hours for this position are 2.30pm - 12.30 on Mondays - Thursdays, and on Fridays its 1.30am until 9.30pm, with overtime available if you are interested.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate planer and feed works to process kiln dried timber using information technology devices
  • Be able to read drawings/cutting lists and have high attention to detail
  • Grind and set up planer heads
  • Monitor the performance of general timber hands

Requirements:

  • A Timber Machining trade qualification
  • 2 years experience
  • Demonstrates verbal, written, and interpersonal skills -Demonstrates an ability to use initiative and be proactive -Physically fit and can lift 25 kgs -Reliable and punctual -Can work well in a team environment -Safety conscious -Good work ethic
