Description
We’re looking for an experienced Press Brake Operator to join a modern Napier manufacturing workshop.
You’ll produce precision sheet-metal components using CNC press brake machinery, working from engineering drawings and specifications to deliver accurate, high-quality work.
Location: Napier, Hawke’s Bay
Start date: ASAP
Pay rate: $32–$35 per hour
What You’ll Be Doing
- Setting up and operating CNC press brake machinery
- Selecting and installing the correct punches, dies and tooling
- Setting programs, bend angles, back gauges and machine parameters
- Producing components to specified dimensions and tolerances
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Completing first-off inspections and dimensional quality checks
- Working safely and efficiently to meet production schedules
What We’re Looking For
- Previous press brake or similar fabrication machinery experience
- Ability to confidently read and understand engineering drawings
- Good knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication processes
- Experience using verniers, tape measures and angle gauges
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and quality workmanship
- CNC press brake or programming experience would be an advantage
- Reliable and able to work independently and within a workshop team
