Takanini Feeds is a stock feed company with its feed mill based at Mangatawhiri in the northern Waikato. We’re a short drive from Pokeno, Tuakau, Pukekohe, the Hauraki Plains and Northern Waikato.
We have a vacancy available for a Press Operator, that will operate our feed mill, as part of our team. Full training will be provided. We currently operate a 4 day working week, with 40 hours. Overtime is seasonally available.
About the role You will be part of a small team that manufactures pellets and fresh meal products for animal feed, both in bagged and bulk. You will be responsible for operating the machinery to make the animal feed and all the other tasks and jobs required to run the factory. You will be expected to assist the wider team as required. We are looking for a reliable, team member. As a small team, we all need to support each other as necessary.
About you
Be willing to learn how our feed mill works and understand your role on site. Fit, healthy, able to work in dusty conditions and lift up to 25 kg repeatedly. Be a team player but be able to work independently Be able to work under pressure. Attention to detail. Reliable and Punctual Comfortable and adaptable in a busy work environment. Must have a can do attitude and be proactive. Have pride in your work space and keep clean and tidy. Comfortable operating heavy machinery, ideally with previous experience. Willing to undergo and provide a negative drug test and ongoing health monitoring.
This role does not require previous experience in feed milling, however experience in working in other manufacturing environments is an advantage. Full training will be provided for the successful applicant.
