About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our team in Takanini, Auckland. This is a full-time, permanent role operating specialized machinery used in paper processing and finishing. You will operate key production equipment and support smooth workflow on the machine line. While this role sits within a warehouse environment, the primary focus is machine operation, with occasional support tasks to maintain production flow.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8 hours per day within this window) Reporting to: National Warehouse Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating slitter machines, guillotines, and other paper-processing equipment
  • Ensuring machines are set up correctly before operation
  • Performing basic machine checks, cleaning, and quality assurance
  • Completing production runs to meet daily output targets
  • Wrapping, stacking, and preparing completed product
  • Assisting with occasional forklift or reach truck operation (if licensed)
  • Quality checking product for accuracy and presentation
  • Safely lifting up to 20kg as required for machine loading/unloading

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Experience operating industrial or production machinery
  • Ability to follow machine operating procedures and safety instructions
  • Comfortable regularly lifting up to 20kg
  • Reliable communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Preferred:

  • Reach Truck experience and/or licence
  • Previous exposure to factory or processing environments
  • Mechanically minded, proactive, and eager to learn more about machine operation
