CNC Press Brake Operator

About Us Patton Custodial is the latest addition to the Patton Group, specializing in the manufacture and installation of custodial and institutional cell fit-out products. The Patton Group is New Zealand’s largest diversified engineering company, with close to 300 employees operating from Gisborne to Christchurch. We pride ourselves on delivering complete engineering solutions to our clients. As this new division grows, we are looking for an experienced CNC Press Brake Operator to join our workshop team. The role is based in our Hawke’s Bay workshop.

The Role This role plays an important part in our workshop team, primarily operating our CNC equipment and maintaining high standards of quality, safety and productivity. Alongside this, other general workshop fabrication duties will be required You will play a key role within a capable team, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating CNC Press Brake Machine
• Complete routine maintenance and safety checks
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control
• Ensure workshop health & safety compliance
• Assist with fabrication work when required
• Safe Material Handling and the ability to produce high quality parts & components
• Some on site installation as required.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in light fabrication, sheet metal, and general engineering
• CNC press brake experience (and other CNC equipment an advantage)
• Good welding experience and knowledge
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production workshop environment
• Strong communication skills
• Practical problem-solving ability and mechanical aptitude
• Solid understanding of workshop health & safety

This is a permanent full time roll offering a minimum of 40hrs per week (6.00am - 4.30pm, Mon - Fri) with overtime available from time to time. Pay range is $30 - $38 p/hr depending on experience.
