Quarry Operator Fixed Plant- Rorisons Lime Quarry

Rorisons RMD is a long-established, family-owned business supplying lime and fertiliser to farmers across the Central North Island.

We operate a limestone quarry between Aria and Piopio in the King Country and are looking for the right person to join our dynamic and forward thinking team and take on a full-time permanent role operating our fixed crushing and screening plant.

You don’t need to come with fixed plant experience, we are prepared to train the right person. What matters most to us is reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and take responsibility.

This is a hands-on role in a practical, team-based environment, with the opportunity to build a long-term career in quarry operations.

THE ROLE You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of our fixed plant, including:

• Learning to operate and monitor crushing and screening equipment
• Maintaining consistent product quality and output, including testing as required
• Adjusting plant settings to meet required specifications
• Carrying out routine inspections, basic maintenance, and identifying and reporting issues early
• Working closely with other team members on site
• Keeping the plant and work areas safe, clean, and organised As part of a small team, you will also assist with general site tasks when required (such as bagging, loading, and other operational support).

Safety is part of how we work. You’re expected to follow procedures, take responsibility, and act on hazards.

• Proactive and hands-on, with a willingness to learn
• Able to take ownership and responsibility for their work
• Mechanically minded and pays attention to detail
• Able to use basic computer systems for monitoring and recording
• Able to communicate clearly and work well as part of a team Experience in quarrying, mining, or similar environments is an advantage, but not essential.

You must be physically fit for the role and able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
