Mitek Detailer
I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Mitek Detailer to join a well-established frame and truss manufacturing team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys technical detailing work, values accuracy, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
About the Role
Your primary focus will be creating high-quality frame and truss layouts using Mitek 20/20 or Sapphire Structures. You'll work closely with internal teams, builders, architects, and engineers to ensure every project runs smoothly from concept to production. A solid understanding of NZ construction standards and the ability to interpret building plans are essential.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing precise shop drawings, cutting lists, and material take-offs using industry-standard software.
- Reviewing architectural and structural documentation to develop accurate layouts.
- Clarifying project requirements with external stakeholders and internal production teams.
- Ensuring all designs align with NZ Building Code, NZS3604, and applicable regulations.
- Optimising detailing for efficiency, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Contributing to quality assurance checks prior to production.
- Keeping detailed records and documentation throughout each project.
What You Bring
- At least 5 years' experience in NZ frame & truss detailing.
- Strong capability with Mitek 20/20 and/or Sapphire.
- Thorough knowledge of NZ construction practices and regulations.
- Confident in reading and interpreting architectural/structural plans.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous eye for detail.
- Ability to handle multiple jobs while maintaining high accuracy.
- A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
Preferred (But Not Essential)
- A qualification in carpentry, drafting, or a related technical field.
- Background in a frame and truss manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with prefabrication and timber framing systems.
