The Role
We are seeking a qualified, highly skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role involves working at height to perform a range of maintenance and cleaning tasks, including bird net installation, leak repairs, and façade restoration. You’ll be part of a small, safety-focused team committed to excellence in every project.
We offer job security, with consistent, secure work. This is a full-time (37.5 hour) permanent position and a competitive hourly rate of $30.00 - $35.00 based on your experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high access work on buildings and structures, including:
- Leak detection and repairs
- Gutter and roof maintenance
- Bird netting and spike installation
- Confined space entry and water blasting
- Conduct high-level cleaning (e.g., pressure washing, moss/mould removal, façade cleaning)
- Assist with rigging and ensure safe anchor and rope systems are in place
- Carry out visual inspections and report maintenance issuesWe are looking for the following skills and qualifications:
- NZQF level 4 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) IRATA Level 1 or 2 or equivalent recognised rope access qualifications.
- Proven experience in:
- Bird-proofing and netting systems
- Leak repairs and gutter maintenance
- Concrete repair, repointing, and façade restoration
- Confined space work and safety procedures
- Strong understanding of NZ health and safety regulations
- Full Class 1 driver’s licence (manual)
- Physically fit, safety-conscious, and confident working at height and in confined spaces
- Excellent communication and teamwork skillsDesirable Qualifications
- EWP (Elevated Work Platform) certification
- Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry certification (NZ or equivalent)
- Experience with silicone jointing, painting, liquid membranes or heritage building maintenance
- First Aid
