About the role We are seeking an experienced Estimator / Technical Administrator to join our team at Altherm Aluminium Canterbury (1984) Ltd in Christchurch, Canterbury. This full-time position will see you playing a vital role in our aluminium joinery manufacturing business, providing critical estimating and technical support to help win new projects and ensure their successful delivery.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for construction projects based on detailed drawings, specifications, and supplier pricing
  • Providing design and technical advice and support to the clients throughout the consultation process
  • Working closely with the manufacturing team to ensure smooth handover from the estimating phase to project completion
  • Maintaining client job files and estimating databases What we're looking for
  • Significant experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, ideally with exposure to aluminium products and systems
  • Proficient in the use of V6 estimating software is advantageous and MS Office applications
  • A strong technical understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and materials pricing
  • Excellent numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills to produce accurate and competitive estimates
  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
