Description
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise hazardous production machinery (e.g., cutting equipment, processing lines) in accordance with Standard operating procedures
- Perform dismantling and reassembly of machinery parts for deep cleaning where required
- Use industrial cleaning chemicals safely and effectively as per SDS and company procedures
- Carry out high-risk cleaning tasks including washdowns, chemical application, and equipment sanitation
- Ensure all machinery is isolated, powered down, and safe to clean
- Inspect equipment post-cleaning to ensure hygiene and operational readiness
- Dispose of waste, residues, and chemicals in accordance with environmental and safety requirements
- Maintain cleaning records, checklists, and compliance documentation
- Identify and report faults, hazards, or maintenance issues immediately Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Strictly comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
- Follow all hazardous chemical handling procedures, including correct dilution, storage, and labelling
- Use required PPE at all times (e.g., overalls, hairnet, safety boots, gloves, aprons, respiratory protection if required)
- Report all incidents, near misses, and exposure events immediately
- Participate in emergency response procedures (chemical spills, exposure, equipment hazards) Working Conditions
- Night shift: 10-hour shifts (e.g., 4.00 PM – 2:30 AM)
- High-risk environment involving hazardous machinery and chemicals
- Wet, cold, and physically demanding conditions
- Standing for long periods, lifting, bending, and repetitive tasks
