Laboratory Technician - Sampling Lab

A bit about the role: As a Sampling Laboratory Technician, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our products consistently meet the high-quality and regulatory standards our customers rely on. Your day will be hands-on, collecting samples across the site, preparing them for testing, and supporting our wider quality team to maintain accurate records and smooth operations in the lab. This role is physically active and suited to someone who enjoys being on their feet, moving between production areas, and working with precision in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll be joining a supportive team where attention to detail, reliability, and pride in producing safe, high-quality dairy products are essential. No degree is required — what matters most is your dedication to doing things right, your passion for quality, and your willingness to learn. With full training provided, you’ll quickly become confident with our processes, equipment, and standards.

A bit about you: You’re someone who takes ownership of your work, brings a positive attitude to the team, and feels motivated by contributing to the production of high-quality dairy products. Physically fit and safety-conscious, you work well in structured environments and aren’t afraid to get hands-on. You’re naturally attentive and careful, keen to follow procedures, and enthusiastic about building your skills in a laboratory and manufacturing setting.

Oceania Dairy (ODL) is a dairy manufacturing plant located in Glenavy, South Canterbury, with a diverse workforce of 400 staff, who specialise in the creation of Milk Powder (adult and infant formula) and UHT milk.
