About the Role
We have a vacancy for an experiencedPlastic Mould Toolmaker / CNC Operatorto join our small team of tradespeople inEast Tāmaki, Auckland.
You will play a key role in themanufacture, repair and maintenance of mould tools, including:
- Operating and programming CNC machines to produce high-quality mould tools and components using a computer‑aided machining (CAM) package (Gibbs Cam)
- Performing routine repairs, maintenance, adjustments and modifications on mould tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Tool finishing and fitting, ensuring all work meets our high standards of precision, quality and safety
- Working collaboratively with the team to solve tooling and manufacturing challenges
About You
- Plastic injection mould toolmaking experience is essential – ideally across design, manufacture, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Full New Zealand working rights (citizen, permanent resident or valid work visa)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Toolmaker / CNC Operator in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong proficiency in operating and programming CNC milling machines, and experience with manual lathes, mills, spark erosion (EDM) and grinders
- Excellent knowledge of metalworking principles, machining techniques and quality control practices
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve tooling issues efficiently
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with a practical, hands-on approach
