Architectural Engineering Installer - Kaiapoi | North Canterbury

We are a local, family-owned architectural engineering and powder coating business based in Kaiapoi, servicing residential and commercial projects throughout Canterbury. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Architectural Installer who takes pride in precision workmanship and high-quality finishes to join our team. This role will suit someone with an architectural engineering background, or strong experience working with architectural steel, glass, and timber, who understands the importance of accuracy, presentation, and attention to detail.

The Role You will be involved in both workshop fabrication support and on-site architectural installation. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Preparing timber stair treads in the workshop, including: o Installing non-slip strips o Wrapping and protecting finished surfaces
  • Installing timber treads onto architectural steel stair structures on site
  • Handling, fitting, and installing glass into architectural steel doors in the workshop
  • Installing steel and glass doors on site to a high architectural standard
  • Assisting with the installation of architectural steelwork including: o Gates o Handrails o Balustrades and panels o Stairs and door systems
  • Assisting in the workshop with: o Cutting, finishing, and painting architectural steel o Loading and preparing materials for site installs

About You The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience or strong interest in architectural engineering or architectural metalwork
  • A high level of attention to detail and pride in producing quality finishes
  • A clear understanding that workmanship and presentation matter
  • Practical problem-solving skills on site and in the workshop
  • A clean, organised, and methodical work style
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • The ability to take direction and work to drawings and instructions Training will be provided for all specific tasks, however previous experience in architectural steel, glazing, or high-end construction environments will be highly regarded.
