About the Company EZU TRAVEL is a Christchurch travel company specialising in inbound tourism, with a focus on the Asian market, especially Chinese visitors, and delivering customised New Zealand experiences. The Role We seek a Marketing Specialist to drive client-focused marketing efforts. This role plays a key part in supporting business growth by developing effective marketing strategies, strengthening brand awareness, and expanding market reach among Chinese travellers.
Key Responsibilities
The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the following duties:
- Developing, planning, and implementing marketing and advertising strategies and campaigns that align with the company’s sales and growth objectives.
- Providing strategic marketing and advertising advice to management, including recommendations on how to effectively reach target audiences and promote the company’s tourism products and services.
- Managing and coordinating the delivery of advertising campaigns, including collaboration with designers, content creators, media agencies, and other specialists, while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collecting, reviewing, and analysing market and customer data to identify consumer behaviour patterns, preferences, and purchasing trends.
- Monitoring, interpreting, and forecasting current and emerging consumer trends within the tourism market.
- Conducting market research to assess demand, identify opportunities for new or existing travel products, and evaluate market characteristics.
- Preparing and executing marketing plans, policies, and promotional programmes to support overall business development and expansion.
- Commissioning and undertaking market research activities to support strategic decision-making and market positioning.
- Providing advice across all aspects of marketing, including product offerings, pricing strategies, advertising, sales promotion, distribution channels, and customer engagement strategies.
Skills and Experience Required To be successful in this role, the candidate must meet one of the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Media, Communications, or a closely related field; or
- At least five years of relevant work experience in marketing, advertising, or market development roles
In addition, the ideal candidate will have:
- The ability to engage effectively with Chinese customers and business partners.
- A sound understanding of the Chinese consumer market, particularly in tourism, travel, or hospitality sectors.
- Proven analytical skills, with experience interpreting market data and consumer insights.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to provide written reference for the reference check.
