SENIOR PET GROOMER

We are looking for 2 experienced dog groomers for our Pet Salon in Bay of Plenty with preference to a groomer having 2 years or more of experience. Remuneration will be appropriate to the experience of the successful applicant. You will be responsible for-

• Grooming pets mainly dogs, but some other animals from time to time generally cats
• Providing outstanding grooming services in store
• Re -booking existing clients and making booking for new clients
• Assisting the junior groomer in the grooming salon as required
• Assisting floor staff in post grooming customer service
• Maintaining grooming and product knowledge
• Day to day cleaning in the grooming salon/store

To be successful in this role you would ideally have:

“Minimum of 2 years experience is required as the successful applicant will need to work independently at times but also be capable of working in a team environment.

"Knowledge and skills in specific breed clips, scissoring and hand stripping. Knowledge on the care of animals and a willingness to work with dogs of all sizes including large dog such as Newfoundland and Standard Poodles.

Sales experience is desirable.

"Knowledge of teaching beginner groomers is a plus, helping the junior groomers is a must but knowledge of teaching would be great.

The ability to work unsupervised. A willingness to learn. Must be physically able to work in an environment requiring lifting of pets & stock. Ability to work weekdays and some weekends as required. This role will be minimum 30 hour a week. Pay rate will be $30 -$35 depending on experience.

Please Note:- Applicant must be flexible to work on different locations when required

Other locations- Northland region and Gisborne region
