Description

About the role: We’re looking for a Junior CAD Technician / Shop Drawing Detailer to support our production team by creating accurate shop drawings and drawing packs using our existing Fusion 360 templates. This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone early in their CAD career who enjoys detail, consistency, and learning real-world manufacturing workflows.

You’ll work closely with senior team members to turn job information into clear drawings and production-ready documentation.

What we’re looking for

  • Basic to intermediate CAD ability (Fusion 360 preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow a consistent process
  • Comfortable working with measurements, drawings, and manufacturing documentation
  • Good computer skills (PDFs, file management, Excel, Google Workspace)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to take feedback and improve quickly
  • Good communication, you’ll be working with production and management teams

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce and update shop drawings using Fusion 360 (templates/seed drawings provided)
  • Adjust parameters and configurations to suit each job (sizes, hardware, clearances, etc.)
  • Create and manage drawing packs (e.g., PDF exports, binder/production pack preparation)
  • Maintain tidy file structure and job folders (naming, version control, revisions)
  • Capture changes and revisions accurately and communicate them clearly
  • Support general CAD/detailing tasks as required

Additional attributes to have for and advantage (not required)

  • Experience with shop drawings, joinery, cabinetry, doors, or manufacturing drawings
  • Understanding of assemblies, hardware placement, tolerances, or production workflows
  • Experience reading schedules/spec sheets and converting them into drawings
  • Exposure to laser/production documentation processes
