Description

Selwyn United Football Club is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Junior Football Coordinator ahead of the 2026 winter football season. This key role is central to the delivery of three junior football programmes – First Kicks (ages 4–6), Fun Football (ages 7–8), and our 9th & 10th Grade In-House Competition. With over 700 participants each season across mixed and girls-only sessions, this is a high-energy, high-impact and paid role that plays a major part in fostering a lifelong love for the game. Sessions take place Saturday and Sunday mornings at Foster Park and Saturday mornings at our outer hubs in Darfield, West Melton, Leeston and Lincoln throughout the winter season. Additional involvement may include preseason planning, gear setup, communication with coaches/parents, and coordination of volunteers. What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong organisational skills – you'll be managing large groups, timeframes, and equipment.
  • Confident communicator – comfortable speaking to both large groups of parents and our young players.
  • Great with young people – patience, energy, and enthusiasm are essential.
  • Reliable and hands-on – able to commit consistently to weekend delivery throughout the season.
  • Collaborative mindset – open to working with others to improve and evolve our junior experience. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next generation of players and create a fun, inclusive environment where young players can fall in love with football.
